"Prof. Yuval Elbashan was unanimously elected by the search committee to be a candidate for the next director general of the National Insurance Institute," said a press release issued by Welfare Minister Meir Cohen, even though Elbashan does not meet the threshold conditions for the position. His closeness to the minister raises fears of a conflict of interest.
