The AWO local association Pliening remains alive: With Barbara Huber and Bettina Marquis, new chairmen have been found and elected.

Pliening – The Pliening local association of Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) remains in existence: at the annual general meeting in the Hotel Poinger Hof, which was attended by around 50 members, a new board was found and elected.

The new chairperson is Barbara Huber, Bettina Marquis the 2nd chairperson.

After 20 years in office, the previous chairman Konrad Seidl had already announced in advance that he would no longer be available for this purpose.

Because younger people should take the helm.

However, the search for successors had already been difficult in recent years, which is why Seidl has been acting as director of the club since August 30, 2020.

At that time no candidates had been found for the offices of 1st and 2nd chairman, treasurer and secretary.

So Seidl, his wife Edith (treasurer) and the 2nd chairwoman Angela Sinning continued.

Pliening: Celebrate your 50th birthday in good spirits

By the AGM it was not certain that anyone would actually apply for the vacant board positions.

If that had not been the case, the AWO local association in Pliening (139 members) would have had to be dissolved.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

As it is, the association can celebrate its 50th birthday this year – with a new board of directors, to which the Seidls are still a part.

Konrad Seidl as secretary, Edith Seidl as assessor.

"I'm in good spirits," says Konrad Seidl, relieved.

Assessors: Edith Seidl, Beate Erhard, Angela Sinning and Beate Wütschner

Looking back at the years 2020 and 2021, which were also determined by Corona at AWO Pliening, 2020 was said to be the "most difficult year in the history of the AWO association".

Because almost all planned events and campaigns could not be carried out due to the pandemic.

And because no candidates for the board could be found.

AWO Pliening: Numerous events canceled

In 2021, also because of Corona, events were only possible to a limited extent, such as senior afternoons and senior trips.

This led to Rotthalmünster on October 30th.

At the beginning of 2021, the AWO local board also decided to stop collecting waste paper from the house.

For reasons of age and personnel.

The collection, the proceeds of which benefit senior citizens and needy citizens in the municipality of Pliening, has been taking place since then as a bring-in/self-disposal.

A waste paper container is set up at the Eberlhof (Dornbichlweg/Weidachweg) every 3rd Saturday of the month.

AWO Pliening honors long-standing members

Numerous long-standing members were honored at the current annual general meeting: Beate Wütschner (10 years of membership);

Hildegard Zahn, Ludwig Schuler and Lydia Ullmann (all 20 years old);

Monika Gelhard, Ingrid Helmrich, Monika Kuhn, Edith and Konrad Seidl, Dora Husslein, Jörg Popow, Ari and Christian Pröls, Theresa Radon (all 25 years);

Maria Joszt (45 years).
