Human rights organizations warn that there is increasing evidence that the authorities of El Salvador have committed serious violations since the implementation of the state of emergency on March 27.
The organizations indicate that they have received allegations of arbitrary arrests, which could even be classified as forced disappearances.
President Nayib Bukele has said that since its implementation, the state of emergency has left thousands of gang members detained and has been critical of the reactions of some NGOs to this measure.
