Opinion | One-sided victory Israel today

2022-05-02T23:24:43.518Z

For there to be peace, we must win • and for that we do not have to fight harder, or God forbid initiate the next round we • just have to believe that this is our country, and that we are here to stay

Tonight we will stand and remember everyone, and be without anger, without a desire for revenge, only with a great sadness that is impossible to breathe in, and only less will fill the world from end to end.

And deathly silence.

And after we remember them all and weep over their youth and the unrealized potential, and the mountains of unfulfilled dreams, and the heroism and the love and the sacrifice, and the voice and the smile and the dimple - we will also remember who took them.

And we want it to stop.

Every cell in our body will want it so badly that we can do nothing because we will be filled with the desire this time.

And after we remember and want - we will think and understand:

As long inside our hearts

Palestinian Homia Homia

And why is she a homie?

Because she has hope.

She has hope that this country will be hers, and out of this hope she fights, against wild and unbridled terror, because it is a dream worth fighting for.

And because of this hope there is no peace, or quiet, or whatever you call this thing that prevents the numbers on Memorial Day from rising every year.

Why does she have hope?

Because we give it to her.

We do not stop and look the Palestinians in the eye, and say to them: "No. There is no hope. This country is ours and this is it. Either you sit quietly or you walk quietly."

No one has been looking them in the eye for a very long time.

And when they look us in the eye we look down, and their hope grows.

There is one word we forgot to use.

It is taken out of our language, and lives only in children's films.

The word is "victory."

She is anachronistic, and no longer really understood.

But its absence, even if not really noticeable, is very significant.

For there to be peace, we must win.

And for that we do not have to fight harder, or God forbid initiate the next round (because we all know it will come, and really no matter what our side does).

We do not need laser guns or armed spaceships.

We just have to believe that this is our country, and that we are here to stay.

Out of that - we will win, as we have almost always won.

And after the victory that comes, I want to die with Shlomo Artzi and Hanan Ben Ari, fireworks and dancing in the streets.

I want a burst of joy like then.

I want all the public buildings in the country to be written in the flashing lights we won, that no one will have any doubt.

And if we know we have won - then the whole world will know that we have won, and the Palestinians will also know that we have won them, and they will have no hope of expelling us from here.

And so, and only so, will they be able to live here quietly, for they will have no aspirations for any reorganization of space.

And we will know that whoever fell in this battle that was forced upon us - fell for the victory, and that this would be the last war.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
