Reinforcement of night lines and changes in train activity: changes in traffic arrangements for Remembrance Day and Independence Day | Israel today

The Ministry of Transportation announced the reinforcement of bus lines to military cemeteries - and also the operation of more than 90 night lines • Public transport on Independence Day itself will operate on a limited basis • Streets will be blocked in several cities • For the first time: Wise mapped about 250 monuments


The bus lines to the military cemeteries on Memorial Day for the victims of the Israeli military and the night lines and night trains on the eve of Independence Day will be strengthened, the Ministry of Transportation announced today (Monday).

The lines that will be reinforced on Memorial Day, which will take place the next day, will be lines that travel to the military cemeteries in Ofakim, Or Akiva, Eilat, Ashdod, Beer Sheva, Beit Jen, Beit Shemesh, Hurfish, Hatzor HaGlilit, Yokneam, Yeruham, Migdal, Petah Tikva, Kiryat Gat And in Kiryat Malachi.

This is in parallel with the shuttles operated by the Ministry of Defense to the military cemeteries in Jerusalem, in grape clearing, in Kiryat Shaul, Raanana, Yavne, Netanya, Hadera, Petah Tikva, Rosh HaAyin, Bat Yam, Haifa, Safed, Rosh Pina, Kiryat Shmona and Afula.

The rest of the public transport lines will operate until the afternoon as usual, except for the reduction of service as a result of the al-Peter testimony.

The service at night will be operated in an adapted format for the Independence Day celebrations, as part of which changes will be made to the route routes in accordance with the roadblocks in the various cities, and lines will be strengthened in the direction of the municipal stages.

On Independence Day night, more than 90 night lines will be operated in full format throughout the country until late at night, in addition to the extension of the hours of operation of the cable car in Haifa, which will operate until 02:00, and of the light rail in Jerusalem, which will operate throughout the night.

In addition, the Israel Railways will operate on Remembrance Day until 15:00 on a regular day basis - and until midnight the frequency will decrease on most lines to a one-hour format.

On Thursday, the trains will operate in a one-hour format, except for two lines that will operate at a frequency of two trains per hour during some hours: the Nahariya-Haifa-Tel Aviv-Modi'in train will operate at a frequency of two trains per hour during the hours of 21: 00-18: 00, and the Herzliya train Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon will operate in a similar format from 15:00 to 09:00.

In addition, the train will increase travel between Nahariya and Modi'in that evening until 01:00 and will operate night trains between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and Haifa and Tel Aviv, with stopovers in Binyamina, Hadera, Netanya and Herzliya.

The next day, on Independence Day itself, public transportation will operate on a limited basis starting at 07:00, among other things by not operating lines traveling to employment areas and educational institutions and reducing the lines arriving at train stations.

The train lines themselves will be reduced to one train per hour, except for the lines between Nahariya and Modi'in and between Herzliya and Jerusalem, where two trains will operate per hour.

From 17:00 in the evening, public transportation activities will be expanded, and operating hours on the various lines will end as usual.

The night lines will also be operated on the evening of Independence Day.

Transport Minister Merav Michaeli said: "Our job at the Ministry of Transportation is to allow everyone maximum traffic on these important days. The reinforcements and adjustments I have promoted will allow everyone to get from place to place easily and quickly in available and efficient public transport."

On the occasion of the many events that will take place during Remembrance Day and Independence Day, the police announced that they will also secure the Remembrance Day ceremony that will take place in the plaza in front of Holon Municipality, so that from 18:00 until the end of the event, Weizmann Street will be blocked. The Histadrut from Shenkar Zalman Aran in both directions.

In addition, the police will block traffic from 17:00 until the end of the event from Golda Meir Streets from David Elazar to Barkat in both directions and Pinchas Elon from Amir Dror, followed by Henkin Street to Barkai Street in both directions.

The police will ban vehicles from entering the Holon mall.

The police also announced the closure of the Yamit 2000 parking lot in the city from this evening.

The next day, from 19:30 until the end of the event, the following intersections in the city will be closed: Mifratz Shlomo St.

Moshe Sharet heading west will be closed from 7:30 PM.

Mount Scopus will be blocked in front of it to the east.

In addition, the police recommend from the crowd that intends to attend the Memorial Day ceremony in the military cemetery in Bat Yam to arrive by public transport.

Also, from 13:30 until the end of the events, Ben Gurion Street will be blocked in the city from Rothschild to Nordau in both directions.

Meanwhile, in preparation for Remembrance Day and Independence Day, the Israel Railways announced the suspension of the electrical work carried out every evening on the shoreline to enable the operation of the lines between Haifa and Tel Aviv stations on the eve of Independence Day.

Trains between Haifa and Tel Aviv stations and between Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon and Tel Aviv stations will operate throughout the night between Wednesday and Thursday, with a frequency of one train every two hours.

In addition, the Wise app mapped out for the first time about 250 monuments to the victims of Israeli systems that can be reached by car - and references to them will appear in the app during Memorial Day at the place of advertising for businesses, so that drivers can travel to tour them.
