(ANSA) - ROME, 02 MAY - The Legambiente volunteer camps are starting up again, with outdoor activities that include citizenscience, manual work, excursions, meetings with residents and training moments.
This was announced by the environmentalist association.
The fields will be in Italy and abroad, traparchi and natural reserves, small mountain villages, marine biodiversity to be protected.
The proposed experiences are aimed at children aged 14 to 17 as well as adults and families, including grandparents.
All summer camps, which last 10-15 days, are coordinated by a manager and include 5-6 hours of daily volunteering six days a week, during which the participants experience community life, collaborate in preparing meals and cleaning of the accommodation, they spend moments of training and free time together.
In Italy the volunteer camps organized by Legambiente will take place between June and September: experiences will be offered from the Cinque Terre to Lampedusa, passing through Gallipoli and Asinara.
Among the various proposals, there are also some fields in collaboration with the parks and protected areas involved in the Youth 4 Planet project, which promotes the involvement of new generations on the theme of the climate crisis.
There are also several projects active in other periods of the year in European and extra-European locations: the activities, in this case, are organized by foreign associations which together with Legambiente are part of the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations.
"The volunteer camps - declares Mattia Lolli, national volunteer manager of Legambiente - were born more than 100 years ago, after the First World War, with the aim of dismissing volunteers from all over Europe together for post-war reconstruction. They have always been an opportunity. of concrete commitment for many young people from all over the world for peace, solidarity and in the case of the Legambiente camps, in particular, for climate justice ".
To become a volunteer of Legambiente, I stress the association, it is not necessary to have particular skills, while to participate in international camps, knowledge of the English language is required.
