Flat share wanted: Rabbit friends Olivia and Igor finally want to get out of the animal shelter – and move into their first home together.

Nuremberg – Olivia is by far the longest sitting rabbit at the Nuremberg animal shelter.

The time she has spent in the care of the animal shelter has been characterized by sunny and shady days.

For example, she lost a boyfriend within the last two years, but found a friend for life in Rammler Igor.

Now the two are looking for their first apartment together.

With the help of a post on Facebook, the Nuremberg animal shelter is looking for a new family for the two rabbits.

Animal shelter Nuremberg is looking for a new home for rabbits with an emotional post

The rabbit Olivia longs to finally move out of the Nuremberg animal shelter after two long years.

Also in the luggage – rabbit friend Igor.

Because according to the shelter's Facebook post, Igor and food are the only things Olivia still enjoys.

Time for a change of scenery!

Do you have space, time and desire to add animals to your family?

The Nuremberg animal shelter describes the two rabbits Olivia and Igor as "very nice and approachable" and is at a loss as to why no one has wanted to take the rabbits to them so far.

Adopting a rabbit from a shelter - Olivia's teeth need regular trimming

From the shelter's perspective, just because her teeth need trimming every few weeks shouldn't be a reason not to adopt Olivia.

Why do rabbit teeth need trimming in the first place?

Rabbits' teeth grow throughout their lives.

If, for example, there is not enough natural abrasion when eating, which can often happen in cages or stables, the rabbit teeth have to be trimmed regularly.

Otherwise, the animals suffer from digestive problems, unhealthy eating habits, weight loss or even abscesses on the jaw.

Animal shelter Nuremberg: Facebook post is often shared and affects followers

The sympathy of the followers on Facebook of the Nuremberg animal shelter is great.

Olivia and Igor's request has been shared more than 200 times.

And yet no one wanted to give the two rabbits a new home: "Oh God, they are so cute, wasn't there any request for the bunnies or does that put you off having to have your teeth done regularly?" Asks one, for example animal lover.

"There hasn't been a single serious request," regrets the animal shelter in Nuremberg.

Another Facebook user writes that she would very much like to adopt the two if she could: "But we already have two – we recently found a rabbit for our girl through you." Let's hope that loving hands will soon be found , who want to give Igor and Olivia a new, comfortable home.

If you want to give them a new home, you can fill out and send the application form to the shelter or contact the shelter directly.
