It is understood that the police have been deploying security measures on the election day of the chief executive in the past few days. On the day of the election on Sunday, the first and second echelons of the six regional response brigades and various counter-terrorism units will be mobilized, with at least 6,000 to 7,000 troops. Since the polling and counting of the chief executive election will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, most of the police force will be deployed on Hong Kong Island, especially in the convention and exhibition area.
Among them, the Hong Kong Island Regional Response Team is mainly responsible for off-site security.
