On May 2, 2022, the trial started on suspicion of a banned car race resulting in death and negligent homicide.

The driver (25) and another driver (29) are said to have had a race on Finkenwerder Strasse, a feeder road to the Köhlbrand Bridge.

Rescue workers fought for the life of the 24-year-old man.

Arriving at the Köhlbrand Bridge, the 25-year-old Audi driver overtook his opponent.

At a speed of over 160 kilometers per hour, the 25-year-old's vehicle suddenly skidded.

Only 60 km/h are allowed on the Köhlbrandbrücke in the port of Hamburg!

The accused Audi driver and the other driver have so far remained silent in court.

The trial on May 2, 2022 ended without a verdict.
