A little corner of paradise that many dream of affording.

An island of happiness that is no longer for sale.

Our colleagues from France Bleu indeed reveal that the small private island of Roc'h ar Hon near the archipelago of Bréhat in the Côtes-d'Armor, was bought by a Frenchman who wishes to make it his "second home".

In addition to the 6,420m² of the island, an exposed stone house of more than 110m², with a slate roof, built in 1758 and renovated in the late 1990s, the buyer couple is buying an atypical property which had been on sale since the summer of 2019. They will have to maintain a guard path and a gatehouse which have been set up.

"The deed was signed on April 14," rejoices Peter Bos on the local radio, the real estate adviser of Sotheby's International Realty who negotiated the sale when this particular property was for sale in four agencies.

It will remain more discreet on the price.

After being offered at 1.7 million euros, its price had decreased to 1,575,000 euros.

Purchased by a couple with children

“This island is completely private with only one owner, it is easily accessible from the coast, it is served by the EDF and water network.

The typical 17th century Breton house has been renovated, all that remains is to put down your suitcases”, presented the agency at the time.

The Parisian owner sold it to “a couple with children, passionate about the sea and fishing, specifies Henri Parenthoën, the mayor of the town, at the Telegram.

They own a boat and their first desire was to take part in the great Easter tide”.

Presented as lovers of the Breton coast, having descendants of the territory, they have just, according to the local radio, acquired the last private island for sale in the north of Brittany.
