Cannes 2022: the "Queer Palm" jury chaired by Catherine Corsini

The director was the winner of the prize in 2021 for her last feature film in competition at Cannes, La Fracture, which trivializes female homosexuality.


The jury for the “Queer Palm” 2022, LGBT award given during the Cannes Film Festival, will be chaired by French director Catherine Corsini, the organizers of the prize, the Cannes equivalent of the “Teddy Awards” at the Berlin Festival, announced on Tuesday.

Created in 2010 by critic Franck Finance-Madureira, the “Queer Palm” rewards each year a film and short films dealing with LGBT, “queer” or feminist themes, among all the Cannes selections.

Catherine Corsini was the winner of the “Queer Palm” in 2021 for her last feature film in competition at Cannes,

La Fracture,

which depicts a trivialized homosexuality embodied by a couple of women played by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Marina Foïs.

Actress Aïssatou Diallo Sagna was awarded the César 2022 for the second female role in the film.

The 2022 jury of the "Queer Palm" also brings together actor Djanis Bouzyani, critic Marilou Duponchel (Les Inrocks), Swiss director Stéphane Riethauser and Paul Struthers, programmer of the Tribeca and Sidney festivals.
