"I am shocked and distraught by what I have just learned: a worker died in a very serious accident at work this morning on the construction site of my mountain house in Ollomont, a small town in the Aosta Valley. The local authorities have recently informed me, I am deeply troubled ".
Thus the Minister of Justice Marta Cartabia comments on the news of the death of a worker during the renovation of the garage.
She expresses "pain first of all" and "personal closeness to the victim's family".
Cartabia told Mayor David Vevey that he was "involved in the disturbance of the entire local community, deeply marked by this grave mourning. I trust that the authorities will soon be able to reconstruct the whole dynamics of the events".
On the basis of an initial reconstruction, the man, a foreigner of about 40 years, was crushed by a beam.
