The high demand for seasonal workers, which is typical for the time of year, caused unemployment in Brandenburg to fall in April.
71,106 unemployed were registered in the federal state, as the responsible regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency announced on Tuesday.
That was 2,262 fewer than in March.
Compared to April last year, there were 11.
Berlin - 752 fewer unemployed.
The unemployment rate fell by 0.2 or 0.9 points to 5.3 percent.
"Even if we are currently still hesitantly feeling the spring revival in the form of warming rays of sunshine, the revival on the labor market can be seen in the form of seasonal demand for workers," said Ramona Schröder, head of the Berlin-Brandenburg regional office.
"Not only the typical seasonal businesses in the catering and tourism as well as the construction industry are looking for workers, all other industries in the region are also signaling a high demand for workers."
