Simultaneously with the state memorial service in memory of IDF casualties and victims of hostilities at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, the controversial ceremony was held for the Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day of the Fighters for Peace movement and the Bereaved Families Forum.
As first reported in "Israel Today", MK Abtissam Maraana from the Labor Party participated in the ceremony, MK Musi Raz from Meretz also announced that he would participate and indeed came to the ceremony with other MKs like his factions, MK Michal Rosin, MK Gabi Lasky and MK Ofer Kasif from the joint list. Former Meretz leader Zehava Gal-On also participated.

A few years ago, I represented the Bereaved Families Forum before the High Court in order to allow the alternative ceremony to take place. In her ruling , Judge Baron quoted
the song "One
Human
Tissue": "
If we know how to calm our anger
despite our insult, say sorry.
If we know how to start over."

As I recall, in response to Mara'a's participation, the MK from Labor said: "I have great respect for Memorial Day and the bereaved families, and I share in the immense and inconceivable pain.
I believe that the way to prevent more wars and more death is through acknowledging the pain of others and others. "
Musi Raz added last night: "Since 2006 I have been participating in a ceremony organized by the Bereaved Families Forum and Fighters for Peace. I will not give in to those who attack bereaved families on the path they chose to mourn. I will participate in the ceremony to respect the spaces and to prevent the following spaces. "
