A major fire broke out in Seevetal in the village of Glüsingen on Tuesday.

The roof of a building is on fire.

Asbestos is released.

Seevetal - Great shock in the village of Glüsingen (1084 inhabitants) in the district of Harburg (Lower Saxony).

On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at around 6:23 p.m., flames suddenly erupted from an old commercial building at the corner of Wennern and Glüsinger Straße.

Numerous emergency services from the local volunteer fire brigades were immediately alerted.

The maximum number was over 100 emergency services.

The so-called Eternit panels release the smallest asbestos fibers.

The emergency services, who had direct contact with the toxic smoke from the fire, had to be cleaned at great expense.

For the rescuers, it means that all hoses, clothes and helmets have to be cleaned in a laborious process.

In some cases, the expensive equipment may even have to be disposed of.
