Five years of continuous work and tireless efforts, during which the (Masa) theater group in the city of Shahba in Sweida was able to highlight many young talents after qualifying them to be able to take the stage and participate in the local creative scene.
The band, according to its young founder, Heba Al-Aridi, aims to attract talents from the people of Shahba city and those who live there from neighboring villages, develop and refine them according to periodic training, spread theatrical culture among young people and empty their energies with useful work.
Al-Aridi indicated to SANA Youth that the band currently includes about 17 talents and has previously performed two shows on behalf of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization branch in theater festivals held by the Ministries of Education, Culture and Tourism, the Artists Syndicate and the Vanguard Organization in Damascus and Tartous. The two talents are Selim Elba and Miral Salloum.
Training within the troupe focuses on a number of important points in the theater, including, as Al-Aridi mentioned, the voice, physical flexibility, performance, and separating the senses in order to prepare the trainees to stand on the stage, noting the cooperation of the School Theater Department, the Vanguards of the Baath Organization and a number of artists and directors with the troupe.
According to one of the talents in the band, Salim Allam Elba, his love for the field of acting since his childhood prompted him to be with the band, with which he won an award a year after joining it, while Miral Salloum indicated that her appearance on the stage at the age of four with directors Taysir Al Abbas and Samir Al-Wazir encouraged her after she grew up to participate In the pioneer competitions, winning second place at the level of Syria, then joining the team that won one of the awards through it.
Layal Khaled Abu Hassoun, 16, said, "Her passion for theatrical acting, her work with more than one director, and her winning competitions at the Syrian level within the Revolutionary Youth Union and the Vanguard of the Baath organizations made her join the band."
