Municipalities get two-thirds of the money for refugees

Rhineland-Palatinate wants to give two thirds of the around 96 million euros from the federal government for the integration of refugees from the Ukraine to the municipalities and districts.
Prime Minister Malu Dreyer, Finance Minister Doris Ahnen (both SPD) and Integration Minister Katharina Binz (Greens) announced on Tuesday in Mainz that around 64 million euros are to be paid out in two tranches in the current year.
Mainz – The government representatives had previously discussed the distribution of the money from the federal government with the municipal umbrella organizations.
According to the information, Rhineland-Palatinate has so far taken in more than 31,000 people from Ukraine.
Among them are about 6000 students.
