On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, the Social Welfare Association and the Union of Charitable Societies in Damascus, with the participation of 10 associations within the “Excellence in Orphan Sponsorship” project, held two activities for children that included recreational activities, provision of in-kind assistance, and distribution of gifts and games for children.

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Muhammad Seif El-Din, indicated that charitable societies and civil institutions played an important and significant role in helping needy families, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, as they embodied the meanings of solidarity and social solidarity in society in a large and effective way, noting that the ministry is ready to provide all facilities and support for any charitable work or A humanitarian initiative that contributes to helping needy families and alleviating their financial burdens.

For his part, the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Adel Al-Olabi, explained that these events have a great role in giving joy to children and drawing a smile on their faces and leaving a good impact on their souls, pointing to the importance of the role played by the Social Welfare Association in caring for orphaned children.

It is noteworthy that the Excellence Project in Orphan Sponsorship was launched in 2015 and includes various services and secures all the material and moral needs of orphaned children.
