US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin admitted that Washington could not control the fate of Western weapons supplied to Ukraine, considering that his country had to rely on Kyiv in this matter.
"At this point, we are forced to rely on the Ukrainians and start with the fact that they will do the right thing, act wisely and carefully, distribute these weapons and be accountable for them," Austin said during a hearing in the US Senate, according to the TASS news agency.
US President Joe Biden announced earlier that he had requested from Congress an amount of 33 billion dollars to support the regime in Kyiv, where most of this amount will be spent on military shipments.
