His appointment has been approved by the North Atlantic Council and he will succeed General Tod D. Wolters at a change of command ceremony scheduled for this summer at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, SHAPE, near Mons (Belgium), specified NATO.
Son of an Italian-American officer, Christophe Cavoli was born in the middle of the Cold War in Würzburg, West Germany, and grew up in military bases over paternal assignments.
Russian-speaking, he has been in service since 1987 and since 2020 has commanded American forces in Europe and Africa, whose headquarters are in Wiesbaden, Germany.
