USA: FBI investigates leak of Supreme Court decision on abortion | Israel Today

The president of the country's Supreme Court has announced that he is ordering a comprehensive federal investigation into the publication of the judges' ruling.

The abortion affair: CBS reported that sources close to U.S. Supreme Court President John Roberts said he apparently intends to order a comprehensive investigation to find out how the draft ruling was leaked that is expected to shock the U.S. political system.

Roberts, the sources claimed, intends to use all means at his disposal, and even intends to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI to track down the leaking source, although it is unclear if the police will comply with his request (since it is subordinate to the Justice Department).

In any case, the Supreme Court has not yet responded to the leak and has not confirmed whether it is indeed a clear ruling.

President Biden first commented on the impending decision, saying: "A woman's right to vote is a sacred fundamental right, so it is important that the ruling is not overturned. If it is overturned, the responsibility will fall on elected officials of all ranks to protect women's suffrage. In women's rights in November. "

Opinions leaked tonight to the news site POLITICO reveal that the Supreme Court of the United States will vote in favor of the decision to strike out the Row v. Wade ruling and thus nullify the constitutional right to abortion.

The opinion was written by Conservative Judge Samuel Alito and read: "We believe the judgment of Roe and Casey should be set aside."

This means that every state in the US will be able to decide for itself whether to ban abortions.

The draft opinion is an unequivocal step against a 1973 decision that guaranteed federal constitutional protections for abortion rights as well as against a subsequent 1992 decision called "Planned Parenthood Against Casey" - which largely preserved the right.

"Rowe's judgment against Wade was a big mistake from the beginning," Judge Elito wrote.

"Abortion presents a profound moral question. The constitution does not prohibit the citizens of any country from regulating or prohibiting abortions," Elito said, according to the leaked document.

"It is time to listen to the constitution and return the issue of abortion to the elected representatives of the people."

He added that Americans have "very conflicting opinions" on the issue.
