Three youngsters win the band competition for their performance at the "Hammersound" festival in Weilheim.

They had 40 minutes to convince the jury and the audience.

Weilheim - It took four years, but this year the "Hammersound" festival can take place again.

One more group is now on the poster for the event on July 29th: "Akili" were able to assert themselves at the band contest in Weilheim and get a place in the festival program.

Hammersound Festival: 40 minutes to inspire audience and jury

Three bands each had a maximum of 40 minutes in the Weilheim youth center "Come in" to convince the audience and the jury.

At the beginning, the youngest musicians in the competition, which includes a total of three concerts with nine bands, got started.

There is no trace of restraint in "Akili" from Egling.

The three teenagers delivered highly concentrated, varied compositions in the style of their role models "Green day" and "Blink 182".

Band leader Felix Hofelich convinced with creative guitar solos and his singing.

It was partly lost due to the acoustics, but it was particularly clear during the quiet parts that the student had his voice under control.

This was also confirmed by his singing teacher, who had traveled to Weilheim with a large fan club.

The 16- and 17-year-old boys were not lacking in self-confidence.

They confidently announced songs and didn't shy away from asking inattentive audiences to be quiet: "Can you shut up?!" Bit by bit the sparks jumped over and the first ones danced to the last tracks of the performance.

Hammersound Festival: Munich band is also well received

With regard to the number of fans, "Kastelkid" could not keep up.

That didn't dampen the mood.

On the contrary: the people from Munich immediately captivated the audience.

Singer Samuel Specker and lead guitarist Ramon Glienke had the audience under control - even though it was the band's first live performance with the current line-up.

"Kastelkid" overcame technical problems with ease and went full throttle.

"Are you up to letting the sow out with us?" Glienke roared.

And the people were in the mood, clapping and jumping uninhibitedly to energetic songs and three-part singing.

The recognizable joy in playing created a positively charged atmosphere.

Glienke even mingled with the crowd and continued to scrape in the pogo round.

What was remarkable was the precise unity of drums and bass, which carried the melodies and gave them their very own signature.

Without further ado, "Sitt'n Satt" started.

The band from the district of Landsberg had loud supporters with them who carried others away.

In view of the lack of time, Pascal Astner saved himself long announcements and preferred to show his skills with complex guitar solos, in which he sometimes played his instrument behind his head.

The statements in the songs of the self-proclaimed "cuddly punks" could hardly be understood, because the room acoustics caused problems for them too.

“Sitt'n Satt” still had fun and, in addition to bare chests and powerful sounds, also provided a small dance choreography with the audience.

Hammersound Festival: The decision is made after three hours

After three hours it was time to wait for a decision.

What was striking – like the whole evening – was the cohesion of the three bands.

The comrades-in-arms were supported at all performances, they danced together in front of the stage and did not show any competitive thinking.

The jury, which included Weilheim's youth officer Alfred Honisch, a representative from Radio Oberland, a professional musician and members of the Konzertkreis, Juze, Kreisjugendring and municipal youth work, evaluated in the categories "Composition", "Stage presentation" and "Musical ability".

The points of the audience were added to the points collected.

Presenter Timo Dahlenburg revealed that it was not the jury's favorite that won the race, but the audience's favorite: "Akili".

After the announcement, the winners hugged each other and could hardly believe their luck when the certificates were handed over: "We didn't expect it.

We are overwhelmed.”

The last free stage slot for the festival will now be allocated next Saturday, May 7th, from 8 p.m. in the Peiting youth center.
