The five deceased, aged between 70 and 89, were summoned to testify first. They all said that the five people happened to be wandering around or passed by for different reasons that day, and they all died in an accident.
Among the 5 people, 1 died on the spot, 3 were sent to the hospital and died, and the other died after staying in the hospital for a month.
The deceased 3 men and 2 women are: Indonesian overseas Chinese YIP WILLY (89 years old), Yang Wengen (77 years old), He Yuzhen (80 years old, female), Liang Hong (83 years old), Chen Ruiyi (70 years old, female).
The car accident occurred at about 2 pm on December 10, 2018. The driver was driving a light minibus with license plate HG365. A traffic accident occurred at Cheung Hei Street, Hee Wo Street and King's Road in North Point. The incident resulted in 5 deaths and serious injuries. .
The hearing is expected to take 10 days and 37 witnesses will be called.

The deceased woman went to the grocery store and changed her clothes and never returned
Yan Haizhi, the son of the deceased He Yuzhen, said that He worked in a trading company before his retirement.
At the time of the incident, He went to the Xihe Street grocery store to look at things, and then had an accident and died on the spot; Chen Ruiying, daughter of Chen Ruiyi, said that Chen came to Hong Kong from the mainland with her husband to work in the clothing industry and retired at the age of 60. .
On the day of the incident, Chen's husband learned from his friend that Chen Yuan had asked a friend to change clothes together, but he did not arrive on time for the appointment.
Her husband later called the police to find out that Chen had an accident and was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital.
When the family rushed to the hospital, Chen was still in the rescue, and finally died at 5 pm.
Ex-tram driver caught in accident
Liang Xiwen, daughter of Liang Hong, pointed out that Liang was born in the Mainland and worked as a tram driver, an employee of Taikoo Sugar Factory and a printer at Maxim's after coming to Hong Kong.
His daughter estimated that Liang was wandering through the place that day before she encountered the accident, and her daughter later went to the hospital to identify the body.
The school bus rushed from Hee Wo Street to King's Road, many people were killed and injured.

Yang and his servants go out in an accident

On the day of the incident, Yang and the servant had an accident when they were out together. The servant immediately notified Liang's wife, but Yang had passed away when the family rushed to the hospital.

On the day of the incident, his father, accompanied by his servant, had an accident when he went to the grocery store on Xihe Street. He was later sent to the hospital and was diagnosed with multiple injuries such as cerebral hemorrhage and intramedullary hemorrhage, but he was not suitable for surgery due to his age.
Afterwards, the doctor once said that the father's life was not in danger, but his condition deteriorated again on January 6 of the following year, and finally died on January 8.
The inquest will continue and witnesses will be called in the incident.
