9-euro ticket: This is how the VGN plans to implement it in Nuremberg

The 9-euro ticket from the 2022 relief package is coming.

The VGN is already working on the implementation, there will be various options in Nuremberg.

Nuremberg – Use local and regional public transport for a whole month for only nine euros: This will be possible with the 9-euro ticket from the 2022 relief package.

The federal government wants to relieve the burden on people.

The saver ticket should be valid throughout Germany from June 1st to August 31st.

It applies to trams, buses, underground and S-Bahn trains and regional trains, but not to ICE, IC and EC trains, Flix trains and Flix buses.

In Nuremberg, the VGN is already working at full speed on the implementation.

9-euro ticket in Bavaria: VGN is working on various options

Just last week, Bavaria was annoyed by the relief package law and called for improvements in terms of federal funding.

Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter (CSU) spoke of a "deceptive package" since the burden was unloaded at the states and municipalities.

Although the financing and specific design is not yet entirely clear, the VGN is already working on possible scenarios for the implementation of the offer in the VGN area.

“The most important thing first: Our customers who already have a ticket automatically benefit.

We take everyone into account in the campaign," Anja Steidl, VGN Managing Director, is quoted as saying in a press release.

This means all owners of VGN subscriptions, but also students with a semester ticket as well as schoolchildren and trainees with a self-paid 365-euro VGN ticket.

Nuremberg is implementing the 9-euro ticket from the relief package.

9-euro ticket in Nuremberg: where and when is the ticket sold?

The 9-euro ticket will be available via the VGN app, the Nürnberg Mobil app and the DB Navigator.

The 9-euro ticket can be purchased as a shipping ticket in the VGN online shop.

"Additional analogue sales channels such as ticket vending machine sales and sales in the customer centers are in preparation," writes the VGN.

According to the current status, there will probably be a pre-sale for online purchases from around May 21st.

"There is no pre-sale at ticket machines."

The ticket is already worthwhile for a single journey from price level seven.

With a return trip, you can even drive cheaper from price level four.

9-euro ticket in Nuremberg: These are the conditions of the VGN

“All 9-euro tickets and VGN tickets valid for more than one month are valid for local transport throughout Germany from June 1st to August 31st.

Long-distance traffic (e.g. IC, ICE, EC) is excluded.

In the case of on-demand transport, such as call-collecting taxis or call-a-bus services, there is sometimes a surcharge.

9am Limited Time Subscriptions are valid 24 hours a day with no blackout period during the promotional period.

The take-away regulation for Plus subscriptions remains in place as before, i.e. it only applies in the previous area of ​​validity, but not nationwide.

Implementing the ticket from the relief package in such a short time poses enormous challenges for VGN.

The approval of the Federal Council for the financing of the ticket on May 20th is still missing, only then is the implementation possible at all.

In Munich, the MVV boss was very happy about the "banger offer".

There, too, they are already working on the implementation.
