Pop singer Nicole was diagnosed with cancer in December 2020.

Now she's back on stage.

Tears came to her eyes as she performed.

Punta Cana/Dominican Republic – Pop singer Nicole (57; everything about the singer's life and career) was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2020, two malignant tumors were discovered.

Since then, the 1982 ESC winner has had many radiation treatments.

Now, Nicole has made her stage comeback for a charity with an important message.

Nicole sang "A little peace" at the ESC in 1982 and became a star overnight.

The song seems more relevant than ever these days.

"I'm having deja vu.

The Falklands War broke out on ESC day 1982 and I sang my peace song.

Today Russia is at war with Ukraine.

It breaks my heart!" Said the hit star to the newspaper "Bild".

In the Dominican Republic in Punta Cana, Nicole was finally back on stage after 16 months in aid of the "Fly & Help" foundation, which builds schools in developing countries.

Because of the chemotherapy, the 57-year-old now wears her blonde hair much shorter.

With tears in her eyes, she sang "A little peace" and her version of the Swedish ESC winning song "Euphoria" in front of the audience - her statement that, despite everything, she was euphoric about the future.

Nicole proud: "Girl, you did it!"

Around her neck, the musician wore her chain with a cross, blessed by old Pope Benedict (95), which she practically never takes off.

Further performances by Nicole are planned for May 13th, 2022 in Kusel and May 14th, 2022 in Saarlouis.

Nicole wrote on Instagram: "I now throw off the ballast, no longer look around, but enjoy the view into the distance in front of me.

The sun is embracing me again, its warmth is now drying all tears, including the uncried ones, and I say to myself quietly, but firmly and infinitely proud: 'Girl, you did it!'"

Jürgen Drews recently chatted in his podcast about the Schlager tour with Florian Silbereisen.

Silbereisen loves to play pranks, the two would share the same sense of humor.
