Today, Lattakia Governorate honored a number of non-commissioned officers and members of the Traffic Branch in the governorate on the occasion of World Traffic Day and Arab Traffic Week.
The honor came during a tour in which the Governor of Lattakia, Engineer Amer Ismail Hilal, Secretary of the Latakia branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Engineer Haitham Ismail, and the provincial police chief, Major General Abdo Karam, participated in a number of traffic police locations and points in Lattakia.
Governor Hilal stressed in a statement to SANA that the continuous efforts of the traffic police around the clock and in all circumstances are appreciated and contribute to imposing the state of safety felt by every road user or pedestrian.
Today, children from several schools were accompanied by the traffic police at several points in the city, during which they distributed awareness brochures on the traffic law and adherence to traffic rules to reduce traffic accidents.
Police officers and members were also met at the Traffic Branch headquarters, and they praised their primary role in reducing traffic accidents and regulating the movement of transport and traffic in their duties.
