A new rescue operation for the life of a child who fell into a well in an Arab house in the city of Douma was recorded yesterday by rescue team members from the Damascus Fire Brigade, after efforts that lasted more than an hour.
In the details, Brigadier General Daoud Amiri, commander of the Damascus Fire Brigade, told SANA that the regiment headed to the scene of the accident and was able to rescue the 12-year-old child, in cooperation with the parents. Accurate due to the narrow diameter of the well, which does not exceed 50 centimeters, and its depth of 15 meters.
Brigadier Amiri pointed out that the firefighters, including the rescue group, are highly trained to carry out such operations using special equipment that includes ropes, hooks and respirators, stressing that various dangerous cases were dealt with and the lives of many people exposed to such accidents were saved.
Brigadier Amiri indicated that the well is located within an abandoned Arab house, calling on the parents to educate their children about the dangers of playing in abandoned and other dangerous places.
