The Legislative Council resumed its scrutiny of the Appropriation Bill today (April 4). When the committee entered the deliberation stage at noon, some people were making noises in the public gallery. Chairman Leung Kwan-yin ordered him to leave. The whole process was disturbed for about one and a half minutes, and the meeting was suspended.
Some lawmakers pointed out that the person was inarticulate when he shouted, and only heard words such as "lawyer, John Ho, I can't get the consumer coupons, the Innovation and Technology Bureau is committing a crime", and was suspected of throwing jammed paper.
Police said that a female security guard was pushed and rammed by a 63-year-old woman surnamed Cheng while performing duties in the Legislative Council. The woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault, and the case was handed over to the Central Police District Major Crime Squad for follow-up.
