The state ceremony to close Memorial Day and to open the Independence Day events will begin tonight (Wednesday) at 19:45 on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
The ceremony, which this year will be marked by a "hand meets a sister's hand", will begin with a speech by Knesset Speaker MK Miki Levy, followed by the 13 highs and lows of the beacons for 2022. The ceremony will be moderated by journalists Hila Korach and Almaz Mengistu.

As reported, this year Culture Minister Hili Trooper decided to cancel the traditional fireworks show at the ceremony out of consideration for the battle shocks, and instead a silent pyrotechnics show will be held.
Also, the inauguration ceremony of the Prime Minister will not take place in previous kilns, and more significant representation will be given to people with disabilities.
Independence Day events
The official events of Independence Day will begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. with a parade of 120 outstanding soldiers, resisters and officers in the Arches plaza at the President’s House, after which they will be awarded the President’s Outstanding Medal.
From 10:30 to 13:30, the Air Force will fly over many localities throughout the country, along with flights of civilian airlines.
Aircraft and fighter helicopters, refueling and transport aircraft and UAVs will participate in the IDF flight.
One of them, "Eitan", will participate for the first time in a 2,000-foot Vitos flight.
This is Israel's most strategic and largest remote-manned aircraft.
At 11:00, the Jerusalem Bible Quiz will begin at the Jerusalem Theater, for the first time under the direction of journalist Ofer Hadad, following the retirement of veteran presenter Avshalom Kor. The quiz will be broadcast for the first time on all TV channels - here 11, Channel 12, Channel 13 and Channel 14.
At 18:30, the Israel Awards Ceremony will open at the Nation Buildings in Jerusalem, in the presence of President Yitzhak Herzog, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Knesset Speaker Miki Levy, Supreme Court President Justice Esther Hayut, Education Minister Yifat Shasha-Bitton and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon .
