Those who take a cruise with Aida no longer have to show a PCR test.

However, other evidence is still needed.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, traveling was unthinkable for a long time.

This is now possible again under certain conditions.

In recent months, travelers have usually only been able to board an airplane or cruise ship with proof of vaccination and a PCR test.

Guests on Aida ships have not had to do any PCR tests since the end of April, at least under certain conditions.

Aida cruises: No longer required PCR tests, proof of vaccination still required

On the official website, the company states that guests on the Aida cruise ships will still need:

  • Complete vaccination protection

for all guests from the age of 12 – including those who have recovered

  • Certified antigen test

from 1 day before travel for all guests aged 3 and over

Cruises: Guests must be fully vaccinated with most providers

The shipping companies are thus gradually relaxing the corona regulations.

Most recently, two providers abolished the mask requirement on board their ships.

However, as with Aida cruises, the prerequisite for this is

full vaccination

.

Some shipping companies also insist on booster vaccinations for all guests.

This is currently not the case with Aida ships.

There it is sufficient if you have received the second vaccination at least 14 days before departure.

Nevertheless, travelers should

inquire directly with their tour operator about the current regulations

, as changes may occur.

Cruising particularly risky for outbreaks

Cruises are considered particularly risky for coronavirus outbreaks.

There have already been several reports from passengers and crew members who were infected on board.

Sometimes the ships were not allowed to enter ports.
