Dr. Tzzer Haim Chomsky (83) has raised billions of shekels over the course of more than 50 years - whether through many charities that have been trained by him or personally. Now he wants to pass the baton to the next generation, and has written a book about his work: A person who does not want to donate. "
In a special interview on the occasion of Independence Day, he says: "I can proudly say that I have helped many leading organizations in the State of Israel to fulfill their overarching goals and help the needy."
The book is accompanied by paintings he has painted over the years, which he says express the feelings that accompanied him during the fundraiser - hope, empathy, achievement, imaginary dialogue, real dialogue and more.
"I paint exactly what I feel as a result of the more than 50 years of continuous involvement in the world of fundraising," says Chomsky. For without the support of the association, there will be no moments of happiness in the lives of the needy. "
"I was born an introverted person"
Chomsky made his first steps as an instigator at the age of 30, when he was sent by the Keren Hayesod to Mexico and Central America to raise funds for the young state of Israel.
"It was a complete surprise for me. I met with the CEO, who asked me to travel for a few years with my family.
I told him that it must be a mistake, I am not the right person, "he recalled.
According to him, he has always been a shy child.
"When my mom would bargain for the price of a pair of shoes, I would wait for her outside the store because I was so ashamed," he explains.
"But the CEO told me at the time - you are not going to ask for money for yourself, but for the continued existence of the State of Israel.

Chomsky says that there are many methods for raising donations, some of which are not used in Israel at all - for example, donations from people who have no one to bequeath the property they have accumulated.
