Second chances, ambitions, fears and, above all, women's soccer, are the central elements of the new HBO Max series, "Las Bravas", with the performances of Mauricio Ochmann, Mauricio Barrientos, Iran Castillo, Juan Carlos Colombo and a great women's soccer team.

Mauricio Ochmann plays the most important Mexican soccer player who plays in Europe, but who after suffering an accident and having to leave Spain due to problems with the treasury, returns to the town where he was born.

His uncle promises to pay his debt in exchange for him being the coach of the Playa Ángel women's team known as "Las Bravas FC".

This is the central plot of the series that HBO Max premieres this May 5 throughout Latin America and whose central message is that dreams can come true.

Starring Ochmann, who plays Roberto Casas, a star soccer player who lives a life full of luxury, he will have to face several inner demons.

"Vanity is undoubtedly the greatest. The ego wins over all the internal ghosts that it has and that in some way is filling all those voids in its life with everything it has, and suddenly Las Bravas make it hit and realize that you must return to your root and origin and rediscover yourself".

The accomplices of Roberto Casas

Roberto Casas (Ochmann) is not alone, and together with his great childhood friend, Sebas (Mauricio Barrientos), they will seek to achieve the unimaginable: turn this group of amateur players into professional soccer players.

"Sebas is the balance between Roberto, who brings a very heavy vibe, and a person who is happy and who is a simple fisherman who is a friend of these bravas," says Mauricio, known as "El Diablito."

On the other hand, Casas's emotional support falls on Martín (José Sefami), the owner of the Playa Ángel bar and who is the grandfather of a brava, who turns out to be Casas's daughter.

"The one that Martín has with Roberto is a fatherly figure. He wants to transmit to him the teaching of life and that all the superficiality to which he is accustomed is useless. At the end of the day, we are more essential than everything that money, power and they can give you fame," says Sefami.

Actress Iran Castillo plays Flor, a teacher and mother who seeks to support her daughter and the rest of the players: "Las Bravas arrives at the right time. It is the story that women live, in which we recognize our powers. It's a story of what's going on in the world today."

"Las Bravas" will face powerful rivals on the playing field.

Outside of it, they will have to overcome the personal adversities that surround them.

"Las Bravas" will support each other

Problems such as insecurity, being overweight, parents who do not let their daughter be a soccer player, fears and insecurities are present.

"Las Bravas" must overcome these personal problems with which they live and the only way is to support each other.

"My character Lorena is the least brave of all, she is the most tender and the most clumsy. The father of this series is that it shows us how women who are brave grow and evolve, and the most important thing is to say no to injustices and reveal ourselves," says Paola Cuarón.

For her part, Esmeralda Soto plays Tania, an overweight character who says the phrase: "My body, as you see it, is my temple and it is my weapon."

But not because she is overweight, that prevents her from playing and leaving everything on the court, as she says.

"That was one of the phrases with which I worked the most and since personally I had never realized that my body is my best weapon. It always helped me break with these archaic ideas that limit us," says the actress.

For her part, Mariané Cortés, who plays Majo, talks about the responsibility that this character has for being the captain of the team: "It is to infect them with hunger and the desire to play football. To enjoy it as a family and a team and, above all, everything, defeat adversity".

Kariam Castro plays Adriana, who initially lives in Majo's shadow because she doesn't believe in herself.

She "she is very good at soccer but she doesn't trust herself and in the shadow of her boyfriend. She takes the strength she needs because she begins to trust herself and, above all, because the other players demonstrated".

Will Roberto Casas be able to reconcile with his past?

Can he lead these brave players to the top of the championship?

Will he leave Spain in the past to restart a new life in the town where he was born?

"Las Bravas", a series that will show that dreams can come true and that the personal adversities that surround these brave girls will be able to overcome them with their own support.

Don't miss the premiere of "Las Bravas" on HBO Max, which along with CNN en Español, belongs to Warner Bros. Discovery.
