China today successfully launched a Long March 2D carrier rocket that carried eight satellites into space.
According to Xinhua, the satellite (Jilin 1 Quanfu 01C) and seven satellites (Jilin 1 Gaofen 03D) were launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province and quickly entered the predetermined orbit.
The satellite (Jilin 1 Quanfu 01C), which has a wide coverage, will be used to provide commercial remote sensing data services for sectors such as earth resources, mineral exploration and smart city construction.
This is the 419th mission of the Long March series of missiles.
