Country on Fire Israel today

Only political unity between the two sides, without disqualifying anyone, will break the cycle of hatred

Concealed sadness and great worry hover over my Independence Day school this year.

The natural tendency is to leave Independence Day above politics, and there is a lot of logic in this tendency, because the state, the miracle of its establishment, the way it did and the place it reached are much bigger and more bearable than the question of who exactly staffs the Diaspora ministerial chair, and who informed the president.

In fact, it is an opportunity to do just the opposite: to ignore the political rift, to tower over it, to stare at the waving flag and the rising smoke, and to rejoice in the joy of the beginning of redemption.

I am willing to cling to this tendency, and so I have avoided the political distress that accompanies me all year round, the fruit of the terrible political years behind us, but since these days are also devoted to thinking about the state and society, it is impossible to avoid looking ahead;

And as I look ahead, there is no way not to fall into a deep depression.

Why depression?

After all, I believe with complete faith that this good and beautiful country will continue to develop, will continue to flourish.

A land in which the eyes of God are from the beginning of the year until its end, a strong and solid military and economic state, a paradise.

I am also not worried about the current government, which I strongly oppose and long for its overthrow.

Both because I believe that the state systems are strong enough to survive this period of political uncertainty, and also because I am convinced that it will not survive long (I did not think so before the "right" scores were scored, but today it is).

The problem is, there is almost no possible political outcome that will lead to social peace and tranquility.

Suppose this government falls and a new government is formed by the right-wing majority.

Will the opposition come to terms with such a result?

of course not.

In that case, the demonstrations will return to the streets, the bad blood will return, and the black flags and profanity will return.

I believe the left camp has been fighting for its life for several years, and so it is waged in patterns of a war of existence.

There is no chance that he will surrender, in the face of any political outcome.

An overwhelming victory for the left, however, is probably not numerically relevant.

So every possible outcome imposes on us many years of unrest that will take the taste out of life.

The truth is that at the present time, it is quite natural that the situation should be complex and problematic.

This movement of scales, which is slowly sloping from side to side and from the founding tribe towards the immigrant tribe, has been completed, but it is only natural that one camp will have a hard time passing the torch to the other tribe and realizing that its turn has come.

It was clear in advance that such a stage in the process would come and that it would be a bit complex.

But like that?

With such back pain?

In such hatred?

There is only one way that can somehow break this depressing situation, and I put my mind to it and am willing to raise it even though it sounds eccentric: an alliance of political unity between the two sides, led by the right, without disqualification on either side of any partner.

Any other way will cut us many more Independence Days that have, along with great joy and great satisfaction, also a hint of sadness and copious doses of worry.
