After a two-year Corona break, the Erlangen Bergkirchweih will take place again in 2022.

Many are now wondering: How much does a beer glass at the folk festival cost?

  • The

    Bergkirchweih

in Erlangen will take place again in 2022.

  • The folk festival runs from

    June 2nd to 13th, 2022

    .

  • The beer measure will reach a

    new record price

    .

Erlangen – It is the oldest folk festival in the world: the Bergkirchweih in Erlangen has its origins in 1755, when the city council decided to move the Erlangen Whitsun market to the Burgberg.

The festival can thus look back on an eventful history spanning more than 250 years.

The Bergkirchweih had to be canceled several times in the course of its history, among other things because of a famine and during the two world wars.

Everyone should know the recent failures of the folk festival: Because of Corona, the Bergkirchweih did not take place in 2020 and 2021.

The good news: This year it's that time again!

However, it is not possible without corona restrictions.

Bergkirchweih in Erlangen 2022: How much does the beer cost?

In 2022 it will finally be time again: "The mountain is calling!" In June, numerous guests will flock to Nuremberg and Erlangen, also because the Rock im Park music festival will be taking place again in addition to the Bergkirchweih.

Above all, beer drinkers at the Bergkirchweih should be prepared: The Maß will probably reach a new record price this year.

In 2019 it was 9.50 euros for a liter of beer, this year the price should exceed the 10 euro mark, writes

nordbayern.de

.

Based on the brands that the breweries are already selling for the Erlangen Bergkirchweih, the beer prices for the beginning of June can be guessed at.

The brand at the Steinbach-Bräu costs 11.50 euros, the Entlas-Keller demands a smooth 11 euros.

The latter price also seems to be the standard price for the other breweries, and the Kulmbacher brewery also sells its beer brands for 11 euros.

Erlangen Bergkirchweih 2022: Between beer gardens and showmen

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, the tapping will take place at 5 p.m. - this means that the Erlangen Bergkirchweih begins again on the Burgberg after a two-year Corona break.

Whether a million visitors will come to the folk festival again this year cannot be said with certainty.

However, due to the long break and with a look at the well-attended spring festival in Munich, it is very likely.

Then it's time to drift over the beautiful pavement on the Burgberg, admire the various showmen and rides and enjoy a beer in the open air in one of the many beer gardens - and the beer price, which will reach a record high this year, nice to forget.
