Bad Wiessee – At the meeting of the Bad Wiessee spa and tourism association, a new board was elected at the Hotel Gasthof zur Post – and problems were discussed.

After two years in office, the board of directors of the Kur- und Verkehrsverein Bad Wiessee has every reason to be happy: the 16 voters recently voted unanimously in the Hotel Gasthof zur Post to continue in office.

Only Regina Beil resigned from her position as cashier for personal reasons.

Christian John, Managing Director of Hotel Alpenhof, applied to be his successor, which was accepted unanimously.

Peter Bayerschmidt remains the cash auditor.

Karl Krenn and Hans Zehetmeier act as assessors.

Mayor Robert Kühn and Managing Director Hilmar Danzinger also attended the meeting, as well as Christian Kausch, Managing Director of Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT), and Stefan Rachl, Head of Tourist Information (TI) Bad Wiessee.

Despite Corona, a lot has been created.

Help for Ukraine refugees in Bad Wiessee

The members of the association have prepared the barefoot path on the lake promenade, donated 1,000 euros for the new pergola and ordered a sky lounger for the Bucherhang, which will be delivered shortly.

The group decided unanimously to hand over 1,000 euros to the community for the Ukraine refugees accommodated in Bad Wiessee.

Full of praise for the previous support from the population, Mayor Robert Kühn handed over a cup with the inscription "Servus Bad Wiessee" as a small thank you.

The meeting really got going with the agenda item “Wishes and motions”.

TTT boss Christian Kausch drew attention to the annual host training courses, for which suggestions from landlords are also accepted.

At the request of Georg Erlacher, TI manager Stefan Rachl reported on the current 216 Wiesseer companies with 3,700 beds.

Concerns about iodine-sulphur bath

Christa Höß from the Manglhof in Altwiessee asked whether the once popular flower decoration competition could be revived, for which a proud 63 percent of landlords voted in a survey.

Mayor Kühn suggested the municipality's Instagram page as a contemporary channel.

The now missing bus timetables of the RVO, which used to be lavishly distributed in the valley, were criticized, so that locals and guests could find out about the travel times.

"But this summer we will have a digital passenger information board in the middle of Lindenplatz," announced the mayor.

Those present had concerns about how the new iodine-sulphur bath should continue, which recorded a big minus for 2021.

Robert Kühn urgently requested that holidaymakers be even more strongly encouraged to use the unique selling proposition with the strongest iodine-sulphur sources in Germany.

The group had little understanding for the recently high prices.

The friendliness of the Jodbad staff could also be improved.

The mayor promised to fix it.

Concerned about the closure of the Gasthof zur Post

Eberhard Waitz, who has been head of the Hotel Bellevue and the Weinbauer restaurant on Hirschbergstrasse for many years, was concerned when the traditional Gasthof zur Post closed on November 6 until further notice.

"We will then not have much to offer in Bad Wiessee and we will have big problems," he said and praised the Post tenant Kurt Geiß, who was then going into well-deserved retirement and who has also had a high-quality and quality hotel and guest house business for over 30 years offered a diverse cultural program.

The forthcoming major construction sites that will completely change Bad Wiessee were also addressed.

Mayor Robert Kühn put the problem in a nutshell: "We will all certainly experience four to five hard years, but then we will be so well positioned in the future that the next generations will be grateful to us for it."
