950 visited the Temple Mount during Independence Day despite threats from terrorist organizations • Immigrants to the mountain prayed and praised the country • Two policemen were lightly injured in the riots

A huge and surprising jump of 258% was recorded today with the ascent of 950 Jews to the Temple Mount on the occasion of Independence Day.

The surprising jump is four times greater than the previous record recorded on the Temple Mount on Independence Day before the Corona, in 2009, when 265 Jews ascended the Temple Mount.

The Temple Mount is open to Jews today at all regular opening hours.

About a thousand immigrants to the Temple Mount properly prayed and recited the praise.

The ascent to the mountain provoked outrage among Palestinians in the east of the capital and many responded to the calls of terrorist organizations and rioted in the mountain compound.

Police arrested 21 suspects this morning for disturbing public order and throwing stones and objects in the early hours of the morning on the Temple Mount.

This morning, during the start of visits to the Temple Mount, dozens of rioters began shouting incitement and disturbing public order, throwing stones and other objects at police forces securing the visits and maintaining security and order in the area.

Violators were soon repulsed, young men entered the mosque and began to riot and throw objects out of it while damaging the mosque.

As a result of the violent disturbance, two policemen were lightly injured and required medical treatment.

The police worked to restore order and in the last hours it was quiet in the place.

During the last hours, 21 suspects, adults and minors, were arrested by the Jerusalem District Police on suspicion of taking an active part in the disturbances, throwing stones, chairs and other objects at the forces, barricading themselves and rioting on the spot.

The arrested suspects were taken for questioning by police.

The police said: "The police will continue to operate in the holy places to maintain security, order and freedom of worship for worshipers, along with visits safely and in accordance with existing practice. Anyone who improves the order in the holy places and acts of violence of any kind - will be treated with determination and zero tolerance."
