The corona incidence in Germany has fallen again.
It is now back below 600 for the first time since late January 2022.
Berlin – The corona virus is still omnipresent in Germany, and on Wednesday the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) again reported 106,631 new infections, citing data from the health authorities.
The actual number is likely to be much higher, since testing is no longer quite as common as it was at the height of the pandemic - and not every patient with a positive rapid test has a PCR test.
Only these are recorded in the statistics.

Corona in Germany: Incidence under 600, Luca is realigning
Nevertheless, there are hundreds of deaths related to the coronavirus almost every day.
241 new deaths were reported on Wednesday.
The total number of corona deaths recorded in Germany is 135,942.
What is currently happening in terms of the pandemic?
According to the makers of the Luca app, they have deleted all data from the Luca system that has been recorded and stored in encrypted form since the contact tracing application was launched during the corona pandemic.
This was announced by the managing director of the operating company, Patrick Hennig, on Wednesday in Berlin.
Luca app: Reorientation as a digitization service and payment application for the catering trade
The data is only stored and visible locally on the users' smartphones, said Hennig.
"Luca has no access to it." What's next for the system?
The makers have long been working on a repositioning.
The goal: Digitization service and payment application for the catering trade.
On Wednesday, Culture4Life GmbH launched a service in Hamburg, Berlin and Rostock that guests can use to pay their bills without cash.
Restaurant visitors scan a QR code at their table and see their bill in the app, which can then be paid via smartphone.
Further digital services such as the acceptance of vouchers or integration into cash register systems are being developed and will follow soon, said Hennig.
Luca Pay is to be financed through transaction fees, which amount to 0.5 percent of sales plus 5 cents for each payment transaction.
