State President Muhterem Aras (Greens) and the people of Baden have reconciled.
"The irritations have been cleared up," said Peter Koehler, chairman of the state association Baden in Europe, on Thursday after a conversation with Aras in the Karlsruhe town hall.
A Stuttgart panel discussion on the state anniversary, which was organized without Baden participation, caused trouble.
Karlsruhe – At the big anniversary event for the 70th birthday of the state of Baden-Württemberg on Wednesday evening, the people of Baden were there anyway.
They are now reconciled because of a promise in particular: If she is still President of the State Parliament on her 75th birthday, Aras wants to support an anniversary event in Baden.

Approaching the 70th birthday between Baden and Württemberg
The Baden-Swabia conflict has its roots in history: before the Second World War, the southwest consisted of Baden, Württemberg and Hohenzollern.
After the end of the war, the Allies formed Württemberg-Baden, Württemberg-Hohenzollern and Baden.
On the initiative of Württemberg, the southwest was divided into four voting districts before a referendum.
The majority of votes in three districts should be enough to found the south-western state - the people of Baden felt they had been tricked.
Since then, the Baden question has come up again and again in the event of alleged or actual injustices.
