The American newspaper, The Hill, announced that the United States has intensified the pace of training Ukrainian forces to use Western weapons that are being pumped into Ukraine, including artillery systems, radars and attack drones.
The newspaper pointed out that the pace of the new American move, which includes training Ukrainians outside their country in various locations in Europe, escalated dramatically after the US Department of Defense revealed last April that it had trained a number of these soldiers to use the "Switchblade" drones remotely.
The newspaper pointed out that more than 220 Ukrainians have been trained in the use of American artillery platforms, especially the M777 howitzer, and another 20 Ukrainians this week completed exercises using the latest Phoenix Ghost unmanned aircraft, 121 of which were sent to Ukraine.
While Washington promised to send 90 M777 howitzers to Kyiv, a senior Pentagon official was not embarrassed to admit that training in the use of American and Western weapons would continue and that more than 50 Ukrainians would arrive at one of the sites designated to start training in time. later this week.
The newspaper said that the training of American forces for American soldiers "is not a new thing", as Washington has trained over the past seven years 23,000 Ukrainian soldiers inside their country.
At the end of last month, the Pentagon announced the start of training the Ukrainian military to use the basic systems in the American bases in Germany, while German citizens condemned the policies of Chancellor Olaf Scholz in support of the Kyiv authorities and demanded not to arm Ukraine and fuel the conflict and to work to achieve peace without weapons.
