This investigation, which had started fortuitously at the end of July 2020 with the avoidance of a possible assassination attempt on a business coach in Créteil, was successively extended to many other facts.

The cell is suspected of having ordered the assassination of rally driver Laurent Pasquali in 2019;

a plan to assassinate a “

troublesome trade unionist

” of the CGT in Bourg-en-Bresse the same year;

criminal projects targeting the mayor of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne) Sylvain Berrios or a Congolese opponent of President Sassou Nguesso, Ferdinand Mbaou, etc.

Robbery and violent attacks

Recently, two new potential projects have been added.

The first is a violent attack perpetrated in January 2020 by two individuals in the south of Seine-et-Marne against a man who had previously been the subject, with his companion, of death threats.

The motive for the attack could be the recovery of a supposed debt of 300,000 euros.

And at least one of the alleged executors of the criminal pharmacy, Yannick P., is suspected of being involved in this attack.

Instructed in Melun until then, this file was transferred to Paris in mid-March.

The second file, linked to this investigation since June 2021, concerns an executive of a car manufacturer, Caroline D. Sébastien L., one of the main henchmen of the cell, indicated that he attacked her, disguised as a delivery man of pizzas, and having stolen his laptop in September 2018 in Val-d'Oise.

According to elements of the file of which AFP has knowledge, Daniel B., another central protagonist of the file, indicated at the beginning of March in hearing that he had entrusted Sébastien L. with the mission of “

recovering the computer

” from Ms. D ., within the framework of an economic intelligence contract which would have been entrusted to the cell by a company.

Placed in police custody in January, the leader of this company denied having "

asked for information about Caroline D. or her attack

".

She was released without charge at this point.

In addition, a new person was indicted on April 14, in particular for "

complicity in attempted murder in an organized gang

", bringing the number of suspects to sixteen.

This is Nicolas S., a gunsmith by profession, suspected of having provided the weapon available to the two men suspected of the supposed foiled assassination attempt of July 2020 which targeted the business coach.
