A year after the victory of 4-M, Isabel Díaz Ayuso wants it all.

First, absolute power in the PP in Madrid, where she will unite the presidency of the Community and that of the party at the end of this month.

Later, a possible internal reorganization of the Executive (focused on intermediate positions) and the party (in which those who doubted the public contract with Priviet to buy masks that allowed her brother to earn more than 55,000 euros will be penalized).

And to top it off, the conquest of the main councils of the left: this Wednesday, in Fuenlabrada, where the PP has never governed, the regional baroness has kicked off the long sprint with which she will try to win the conservative formation in the elections of 2023 the mayoralties of the great strongholds of the PSOE and its allies in the region (Alcalá de Henares,

Alcorcón, Getafe, Móstoles, Leganés, Arganda del Rey, Pinto or Fuenlabrada itself).

A mission for which the party seems willing to use ammunition of the thickest caliber.

Feijóo and Ayuso, clash of styles on Dos de Mayo

“You get out of socialism.

There are great examples.

In Andalusia they came out, and they don't want any more ”, Díaz Ayuso ironized during the rally with which he celebrated his electoral victory a year ago, in which he won 65 deputies, more than the entire left together.

"The left treats us [Madrid] as a place of homophobic people, in black and white, of paralysis and apathy," he continued.

“It is not the same to be popular than populist, nor social, than socialist”, he added.

And he has warned: "Silence is the worst enemy."

"The left is like the hyenas of the Lion King, they only look for hogwash, insults, poisoning Madrid politics," Alfonso Serrano, the PP's parliamentary spokesman, launched.

“The south is not from the left, socialism is out, as you say, and soon we will demonstrate it”, Noelia Núñez, regional deputy and foreseeable candidate of the PP in Fuenlabrada, snapped.

"We do not deserve a left that weighs us down, more and more neighbors deny the scam that is socialism."

The slogans of the meeting, and the fanfare that surrounds a day full of celebrations, hides the heavy digestion that the PP is making of all the controversies that have surrounded it in recent months.

There is the departure of Pablo Casado after losing his pulse with Díaz Ayuso.

There are the contracts signed in the pandemic by the Community and the City Council.

And there is the disturbing future that opens up for many with the arrival of the baroness to organic power: it is time to draw up the electoral lists for 2023, and the regional president has already warned that she is prepared to replace those who have no chance of victory, since who questioned the work of his government for the contract that benefited his brother.

We

have all been Casadistas, it is his thing, the only thing missing”, said Díaz Ayuso during an informative meeting organized this Thursday by Europa Press, in which he has assured that he will not retaliate against those who support the former president of the PP.

“A different thing is whoever has questioned the honorability of my government, and its management,” he added, warning that he can also remodel the “intermediate positions” of his Executive.

"I am going to take that into account," he stressed.

And he has finished: “We have worked with a penny of a euro, with honesty.

I am not going to forget that something different has been tried to be transferred”.

No popular position has been taken for granted in public, although the pools have soon begun about who may be affected, and with them, the mental review of in what terms each one supported Casado in the worst days of the crisis unleashed between the two leaders.

From doors to outside, however, fireworks.

Thus, Díaz Ayuso has said that he has fulfilled or implemented more than 90% of his government program, despite the fact that there are key promises that have not yet seen the light of day.

In fact, he has once again ensured that one of them will be ready soon: expand the Inheritance and Gift tax rebates from 15% to 25% between siblings, and from 10% to 20% between uncles and nephews.

And in parallel, while she was applauded for lowering taxes, the president of the Community has complained that the Government of Spain does not provide funds to cover the bill for the rise in electricity in the Metro, or to attend to the refugees who flee of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has been estimated at 1,000 million euros.

Mirage

However, the celebration of the first anniversary of 4-M was for the spokesmen of the leftist opposition parties a mirage of bonanza and joy.

"Time is right now a luxury item, and Mrs. Ayuso's term of office has been a waste of time," opposed Mónica García, the leader of Más Madrid.

"Wasting time waiting for our doctor, the subway, and what project Mrs. Ayuso offers us", she has exemplified.

"Until now we have not known a single project that has been presented to us for the future of this Community."

"The freedom that was promised has turned into fewer public services, less quality of life, in a situation in which many residents suffer from the historical record on waiting lists...", Juan Lobato, the general secretary of Madrid Socialists.

"Unfortunately, this is the balance of this year of government, together with the lack of transparency, having hidden and not showing up for the case of his brother."

"We are worse off than a year ago," Carolina Alonso, the spokeswoman for Podemos, has concluded, who is already flirting with trying a difficult electoral alliance of the entire left to face Díaz Ayuso in the 2023 elections. And she exemplifies: "I don't I say, the Caritas report says so: inequality is growing in Madrid.

Also the Eurostat report: life expectancy in Madrid has dropped three and a half years.

And the judges say so, who are investigating the different cases of corruption around the masks.”

Those two Madrids so far apart in their description will soon pass the exam at the polls: there is one year left for the municipal and regional elections of 2023.
