War in Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelensky appeals for donations to "rebuild Ukraine"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Thursday the launch of an online crowdfunding platform, designed to help Ukraine win the war against Russia and rebuild the country's infrastructure.

The platform, called United24, can be accessed at u24.gov.ua.

The funds will be distributed to respond to "defense and demining", "medical aid" and to "rebuild Ukraine", it says.

“With one click, you can donate funds to help our defenders, save our civilians and rebuild Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelensky said in an English video message posted on Twitter.

Its 1st component is an online platform to raise funds in support of 🇺🇦.

An update on the first donations on Friday

"All funds will be transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated to the ministries concerned", specifies the Ukrainian president, at the initiative of the project.

Volodymyr Zelensky also specifies that reports on the distribution of funds will be published “every 24 hours”.

"Only together do we have the potential to stop the war and rebuild what Russia destroyed," added Volodymyr Zelensky, assuring that Ukraine "will always remember" the contributions.
