Weather model announces the first 30 degrees of the year - but experts have gloomy fears in May

The merry month of May actually got off to a pretty good start.
One weather expert warns that the current weather models are anything but dreamlike in one respect.
Munich – The weather in May is a foretaste of summer.
According to current calculations, temperatures with values up to 30 degrees are possible in some regions of Germany.
It remains to be seen whether these are outliers.
"It could also be a summer carrot that makes us happy," emphasizes meteorologist Dominik Jung from the weather service

The heat is one thing, but the weather expert is committed to the subject of drought.
Hardly any rain seems to be in sight for large parts of the country.
Meteorologist Jung initially rules out a cold snap with a view of the ice saints with a view to the weather conditions.

“May is here and the first week of May is going to be really nice.
Only in the south there are individual showers and thunderstorms from midday.
Otherwise the sun usually smiles down from the sky,” explains meteorologist Dominik Jung from the weather service

On Mother's Day on May 8th, the temperatures could even climb to 25 degrees.
"It smells like a merry month and that's what all the leading weather models say," says the weather expert.

Weather experts now expect a summer hammer to the ice saints.

Icy polar air from the north are feared in May.
However, the ice saints hardly keep to a specific schedule.
But the ice saints are among the so-called meteorological singularities - a specific weather situation that is very likely to occur.
In northern Germany, the ice saints begin with the name day of Mamertus on May 11th.
In this weather, the cold air from the north penetrates southern Germany later.
That's why the ice saints are important there from May 12, explains the German Weather Service (DWD).
And so May 14 (Boniface) and May 15 (Kalte Sofie) are added, whereas May 11 (Mamertus) is not valid.

Weather in May: Gloomy prospects in terms of rain
According to the US NOAA weather model, the dry weather will continue in May and June, emphasizes Jung.
Spring is almost over and 38 percent of the rain target in Germany has been met so far.
"If May is also very dry, then the overall balance for spring 2022 will look rather bleak," sums up the meteorologist.
High "Tim" determines the weather in northern Germany - also on this Monday (May 2nd).
"In Hamburg, for example, there hasn't been a drop of rain since April 13, 2022, and there is still no rain in sight for the Hanseatic city," says Jung.
The high pressure area blocked over central, eastern and western Europe.
Lows pass Germany.
Only the south of Germany remains in the sphere of influence of the wide low-pressure channel.
Thunderstorms and showers with heavy rain are also possible here.
Even the first weather trends for May 2022 indicated no change in this weather situation.
But of course there is leeway in the weather models.
