Luis Enrique Ramírez Ramos, the ninth journalist murdered in Mexico during 2022 —although the Mexican government only recognizes seven—, had a history of attacks and threats for his work, according to the organization Article 19, which claims the "inability" of the Mexican State to throughout the administrations, including that of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to stop the violence against communicators.
The Government of Mexico has said that it will work with the authorities of the state of Sinaloa - where the body of Ramírez Ramos was found - to clarify the facts and find those responsible.
