Marseille on the Cote d'Azur in France
Many old streets, churches, museums and castles: Marseille is a true Mecca for those interested in history.
But the city in the south of France can do much more: As befits the most important French port city, you can eat the finest fresh fish in many lovingly furnished restaurants.
If you don't just want to marvel at the turquoise water from the promenade, it's best to look for a beautiful city beach to set up camp there.
Particularly beautiful: The sandy beach in the heart of La Corniche in Marseille.

The colorful, narrow houses directly on the beach promenade, the venerable church buildings, the squares and shops that are made for strolling and strolling: the Portuguese city on the Atlantic is one of the most beautiful in Portugal.

In order to have the winding streets of the old town to yourself, you should avoid arriving during the peak travel season.
But even then, Split unfolds a charm that most people succumb to.
Diocletian's Palace, the Cathedral and numerous shops, bars and cafes are just a few hotspots worth visiting.
Located directly on the Adriatic Sea, beach lovers will also be made happy in Split - for example in the Bene lido.
