Daraa-Sana
Today, an Izraa firefighting unit in the countryside of Daraa province put out a fire that broke out in the Ar’a Al-Omran warehouse, which is designated for storing wheat belonging to the seed multiplication branch in the province, without causing any stock losses.
The director of the seed propagation branch, Engineer Ghazi Al-Nasif, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the fire, which broke out for unknown reasons, affected barns and empty bags, and did not reach the stock of wheat, indicating that the multiplication branch through the existing extinguishing devices and two fire trucks belonging to the Azraa fire unit put out the fire before its scope expanded.
Al-Nasif indicated that the branch is taking the necessary precautions to prevent fires from reaching the stockpile of wheat.
In turn, the commander of the Daraa Fire Brigade, Colonel Muhammad al-Mahamid, said in a similar statement that the Izraa firefighting unit, as soon as it was informed of the fire, went to the place with two firefighting vehicles with its cadres and put out the fire before it spread to the wheat stock. Any fire, traffic accidents or drowning, call the toll-free number 113.
While briefing the location of the fire, the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatna, said in a statement to reporters, "We visited the seed propagation branch, and we were briefed on the fire that occurred in one of the open warehouses, and we dealt with some issues that need to be addressed."
