The Freising Garden Days celebrate their comeback.

Despite the reduced program due to Corona: The variety of exhibitors is still impressive.

Freising

– Eight weeks.

That's how long Anita Fischer had to get her popular Freising Garden Days up and running.

Because it was only in March that she received approval for the event from the district office.

"That's why I'm not only really looking forward to this weekend, I'm also proud of what we, my comrade-in-arms Gabriele Dietl and I, have achieved in such a short time."

And that's quite a lot - even if there is no traditional lecture program this year due to Corona.

67 exhibitors are presenting their green goods around the district office this Saturday (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

22 of them come from the district of Freising alone.

But what is even more important to Anita Fischer: "Although we didn't have a lot of time, we can cover everything - from plants of all kinds to garden tools and soil to fertilizer."

"Some couldn't believe that he was really coming to Freising"

What distinguishes the Freising Garden Days, which have been around since 1997: They not only offer variety, but also outstanding quality.

"We offer the people of Freising the crème de la crème", emphasizes Anita Fischer and immediately names two examples: the clematis and fruit specialist Herian, who presents over 300 varieties of clematis, and Marco Fransen, the master of hostas and obviously a sensational guest.

In any case, his announcement caused excitement among insiders on Facebook.

"Some couldn't believe that he was really coming to Freising," reports Fischer.

Freising's mayor Eva Bönig missed the garden days during the two-year Corona break, as she revealed at the press conference on Friday.

"In addition to a coherent concept, this event simply offers a wonderful ambience," she enthuses and dares to make a personal shopping forecast: "I've always gone home with a full basket."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

For Deputy District Administrator Robert Wäger, the Garden Days are an “excellent start” to the event year.

"It's nice that people can now come together again and exchange ideas."
