The driver had to be rescued for more than 60 minutes.
Ellerbek (Schleswig-Holstein) - Serious accident on the Rellinger Weg just before Ellerbek near Hamburg.
In the night from Thursday to Friday, May 06, 2022, there was a serious traffic accident at around 03:30 a.m.
The elderly driver of a Hyundai i10 left the road in a slight curve and crashed into a tree.

The man was locked in his vehicle for more than an hour, but was not trapped.
The volunteer rescuers from the Ellerbek volunteer fire brigade carried out a so-called patient-friendly rescue in close consultation with the emergency doctor.
The yellow "board" is called the "spineboard" by the fire brigade.
It protects the spine and is intended to minimize further injury.

With "scissors and spreaders" (hydraulic tools), the rescuers cut open the driver's side and snapped off the entire vehicle roof.
The man was rescued from the vehicle with a special “board”, known in specialist circles as a “spineboard”.
With this "spineboard" the rescuers minimized the movement of the spine to prevent further injuries.
Accident just before Ellerbek: rescue after 60 minutes – police secure dashcam video
After almost 60 minutes, the man was then treated in an ambulance and transported to a Hamburg hospital.
An expert commissioned by the police to investigate the accident took aerial photographs with a drone.
A dashcam video of the accident vehicle is now also being evaluated.

Firefighters cut up the vehicle and freed the driver.
