The Jordanian Foreign Ministry this evening (Friday) issued a condemnation of the horrific terrorist attack in Elad, but at the same time attacked Israel.
Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hitham Abu al-Paul warned of "the danger of escalating the vicious cycle of indecent violence that is escalating against the civilians in Palestine and Israel and heralding the worst."
Abu al-Paul stressed that "the escalation of violence and tension is a dangerous signal and the overall calm that everyone is working for has begun to crack in an environment of despair that fuels extremism and feeds on the lack of a true political horizon."
Regarding the terrorist attack in which three Israelis were killed in Elad on Thursday evening, a Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that his country "condemns this action as it condemns all acts of violence against civilians."
He added that "the violence against the civilians, which has also claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinians in the current wave of escalation, will only contribute to the escalation of the escalation that everyone is paying the price for."

A Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed the "need to work immediately to restore trust and return to immediate negotiations for a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution to be embodied in the independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines of East Jerusalem to live in security and peace alongside Israel."
It also emphasized the need to "act immediately to contain the whirlwind of escalating violence and take all necessary steps to maintain overall calm, and to stop the escalating provocative measures, especially sanctity violations, settler violence, expulsion of Palestinians from their homes, confiscation of land and military escalation in Palestinian territories." This is in order to start immediately with a real effort to revive an action that will renew the chances for peace and prevent all the extremist forces from taking advantage of the escalating tension and the lack of horizon to achieve a just peace. "
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid spoke with the Emirati Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Ben Zayed.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Sheikh Abdullah strongly and sharply condemned the terrorist attack in Elad, offered condolences to the families of those killed and congratulated Minister Lapid on Independence Day. The two expressed hope that days of peace and security would come for Israeli residents."
